Nathan Kumar Scott is the SAGE Program Director

Nathan was born and raised in India, speaks fluent Hindi, and studied at Woodstock
School. He has a B.A. from Oberlin
College in anthropology, and an M.A.
from the University of Washington
in South Asian Studies. Nathan has
been a Watson Fellow, studying non-formal
education throughout South and Southeast
Asia, as well as a Fulbright Fellow
in India, studying Indian puppetry
and performing arts.

Ruth Brodeen is the SAGE
Program Coordinator

Ruth has always had an insatiable
appetite for foreign travel and discovering
other cultures. Her travel repertoire
includes a month long trek in Nepal,
visiting ornate temples in Thailand,
Eurrailing throughout Europe,
studying abroad at the Universitat
Heidelberg in Germany and discovering
the best beaches in the Caribbean
and Mexico. She has been in
the travel industry for almost 20
years specializing in group tour planning.
What
she enjoys most about her job is interacting
with the amazing, extraordinary high
school students who apply to SAGE
and turning their dream of studying
abroad into a reality!

Serena Leland is
the Summer SAGE Project Manager

Serena has been involved in
international education and
development work for the past 15
years. She developed a
fascination with intercultural
learning as a study abroad student in
Costa Rica and as a Peace Corps
volunteer in Kenya. She has
spent time traveling throughout the
Indian state of Rajasthan and doing
anti-human trafficking work with
nonprofit organizations in New Delhi.
She has a B.A. in English, Secondary
Education Certification, and an M.A.
in International Development. |
