Job Description:
Summer SAGE Trip Leaders are responsible
for: pre-trip research and preparation (curriculum,
reading lists, etc); pre-trip communication
with students; participation in leader orientation;
planning and implementing group activities
within a pre-established itinerary; the
health and safety of the group at all times
while traveling; regular communication with
the SAGE Program office while on the trip;
participation in post-trip de-briefing.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must have: a
minimum of three years experience working
with high school youth (preferably teaching),
including significant time outside the classroom;
emergency medical/1st aid certification
& CPR (prior to departure); experience
traveling or living in the Third World (experience
in India is preferred but not required);
flexibility/ability to adapt to diverse,
challenging and often difficult circumstances;
a valid US passport. Further desirable qualifications
include:
- Bachelor’s degree (required);
advanced degree (desirable)
- Prior experience leading youth trips
abroad
- Flexibility, good humor, and high energy
- Appreciation for and good rapport with
high school youth

Compensation:
A generous honorarium plus all associated
trip costs from US point of departure to
return.
