How to apply

Who We Are:

The SAGE Program offers high school students the opportunity to travel and study abroad as a way to gain greater understanding of the world and themselves. Through our student programs, travel abroad becomes a transformative experience, which we have carefully designed to allow participants to grow intellectually, socially, and emotionally. We challenge students to move beyond their comfort zone, to think more critically about the world and themselves, and to become engaged and responsible global citizens.

Our Programs:

Semester/Year Abroad

The SAGE Program offers a unique international high school exchange program in which students in grades 10-12 have the opportunity to spend an academic semester or year at a top-rated international school.

Whether you opt for Woodstock School, set in the foothills of the Himalayan mountains in North India, or for Kodaikanal International School in the tropical hills of South India, the exceptional international curriculum allows you to receive full high school credit for all courses you take, and stay on track to apply to American colleges or universities.

Besides academics, students on the SAGE Program take advantage of incredible extra-curricular activities: you can study Indian music or dance, trek in the Himalayas, boat on Kerala’s famous backwaters, or volunteer for community service projects. A highlight of the SAGE year is the month-long Winter Tour, a cultural tour of India during the winter vacation.

"Through the SAGE Program I grew personally. Others who are willing to experience the unknown can do the same.  It is an unforgettable experience!"

SAGE has been running international high school exchange programs in India since 1992 and has a time-tested and well-established network of contacts, schools, and organizations which we work closely with. Our History:

The SAGE Program was started in 1992 as an affiliate of KW International, Inc., an educational non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the goals and objectives of Woodstock School and Kodaikanal International School. Since our inception, we have held to the belief that international travel and study is fundamental to a crucial awareness of global citizenship. Over the years, SAGE has sent hundreds of students to India with the goal of providing them with a deeply transformative experience. We continue with that today.

After being on the SAGE Program, I now feel like I can go anywhere."
