Location:
Located on the outskirts of Mussoorie,
in the Himalayan state of Uttarakhand on
a beautiful mountainous 250-acre closed
campus, Woodstock School is surrounded by
incredible Himalayan scenery and is nestled
into a forest of pine and oak trees. The
campus provides a very peaceful contrast
to the nearby bustle of the local Indian
market.
Facilities:
The
main campus buildings and residences, a
mixture of old and new, are spread out over
the hillside. The original historic school
buildings surround the Quad which houses
the new music and dance studios, as well
as the auditorium and the ceramic arts studio.
The Media Center houses two computer labs,
an auditorium, a spacious art studio, an
industrial arts room, a video-editing suite
and a screening room. The main dining hall,
health center, and administrative offices
complete the picture.
Nearby is the High School building which
provides classrooms, science laboratories,
the Vera Marley Library, and Parker Hall
Auditorium. Nearing construction in 2008
is the new Win Mumby Gym, which will consist
of two covered courts, an outdoor field,
and standard gymnasium equipment.
| “ These hills,
these faces, these smells - all of them
have taught me so much about what is
important to me and the sort of person I
am and long to be."

The school buildings are located about a
20-minute walk away from the student residences.
Six residence buildings extend along the
wooded ridges below the academic buildings
or on the hillside above them. Together,
the residences provide students with a fitness
gym, indoor court, swimming pool, three
outdoor basketball courts, and a large playing
field. Hanson Field, the main sports and
athletic field, is a five to ten minute
walk down from the lower residences.
Tha Hanifl Center for Outdoor Education
and Environmental Study supports the school’s
programs in leadership, outdoor education,
service learning and environmental science.
